Where it all Began

When Alice J Crouch, a Brighton based actress, teacher and creative entrepreneur, heard about lockdown in 2020, she only had one thought...how are children and their families going to get through this uncertain time? So with a starting point of wanting to make children and those young at heart smile through magical adventures telling stories old and new, she set up Quarantine Kids Storytime and reached out to local actors and teachers who might be interested in an outlet like this and started building a small team of readers.

Sascha Cooper not long afterwards came on board as her partner for the project. Being an actress from the same area, she likewise loved stories and wanted to bring joy through classical texts and more. Finding a common connection with Alice's vision of escapism and adventure, she found herself doing more of the social media side of things and the technical side, as well as helping out more in general. She has been a partner ever since

Quarantine Kids Storytime's ethos encourages everyone to find solace, relaxation and escape into another world using the power of words and divine intervention when needed, whether through classical texts in the public domain, original writing the team does in house, or by getting permission to read from authors that are still in copyright.

Their plans for the future include creating stories that are Makaton, autism and sign language friendly, as well as expand into songs for children and stories that are told in other languages.
